I’m so guilty of hiding who I really am it’s not even funny.

I’m really digging my bleach blond from the sun and salt…but I had no idea I had this much gray!
Then there is of course this massive scar on my head and all the wrinkles
What personally bothers me the most is all the sun damage. On top of that, my constant use of sunscreen gives me acne.
This photo show how my lip is kinda mis-shaped from getting a bunch of stitches in my lip. But recently I spent too much time in the sun and it is splitting back open 🙁
I was telling my sister about all this. Her response was perfect,
“From one extreme to the other!”

In Mexico, there is a real respect for older people. Because of this, it is not considered rude to ask a woman her age. Nor is it considered rude to guess a woman’s age significantly older than she is…but it doesn’t always make it sting less.
Look, this is part of the deal. Sure I can get hair dye and botox and chemical peels, and the truth is, I will! Probably before I come back to the States since all those things are cheaper here and seem to be important there. But in the meantime I will just embrace who and what I am. I like to think I’m okay without all that, just the way I am.
